About Carrick Diamond Lad

Carrick Diamond Lad was a 1993 Irish Sport Horse stallion bred at Greaghwillan Stud in County Monaghan. Sired by Flagmount Diamond out of Greaghwillan Pearl (by Sky Boy xx), he combined some of the finest traditional Irish and Thoroughbred bloodlines. Although a serious fetlock injury as a foal prevented him from competing, he went on to become one of the most influential sport-horse sires in Ireland and the UK. Renowned for passing on athleticism, temperament, and versatility, Carrick Diamond Lad produced top-class offspring across show-jumping and eventing, earning him a lasting reputation as a foundation sire of modern Irish Sport Horses.
